Nebraska — Legislative Bill 749, effective July 19, 2018, provides that nonprofit corporations will not be assessed the $5 per page recording fee for the filing of a Biennial Report. 

Texas — The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has opened a Tax Amnesty period between May 1, 2018 and June 28, 2018.  Eligible taxpayers are those who did not file for periods prior to January 1, 2018, or underreported taxes or fees due for any reason.  This Amnesty program does not apply to taxpayers with filing periods that are currently under audit or identified for audit. 

Texas — House Bill 2856 (Laws of 2017), effective June 1, 2018, amends provisions of the Business Organizations Code relating to the names of domestic and foreign filing entities.

New York — Senate Bill 7303, effective April 18, 2018, amends the effective date of Senate Bill 1853, Laws of 2017 to January 1, 2019, related to a Not-for-Profit Corporation Law amendment requiring the listing of certain not-for-profit corporations on the Department of State's website.

Tennessee — House Bill 2524/Senate Bill 2435, effective April 18, 2018, amends the LLC law regarding the powers of a series of an LLC.

New York — Assembly Bill 9508, effective March 31, 2018, amends the Executive Law by extending authorization for the Department of State to provide multiple levels of expedited service.  See Part S.

West Virginia — Senate Bill 71, effective May 23, 2018, amends the Fees, Allowances & Costs; Newspapers; Legal Advertisements title relating to the annual report requirement for veteran-owned businesses.

Washington — Senate Bill 6040, effective June 7, 2018, amends the Business Corporation Act by authorizing virtual shareholder meetings and remote shareholder participation at meetings.

Iowa — House Bill 2300, effective April 2, 2018, amends the Professional LLC law to include mental health counseling and social work among the professions which may be practiced by a PLLC and the Professional Corporation law to include marital and family therapy or mental health counseling and social work among the professions which may be practiced by a PC.
