Alabama — Senate Bill 243, effective October 1, 2015, requires the Alabama Department of Revenue to begin issuing a “Certificate of Compliance” certifying that a business entity is in compliance with all Alabama state taxes, rather than the previously issued “Good Standing Certificate,” which only certified payment of business privilege taxes.
A Certificate of Good Standing is a state-issued document that proves the entity is in compliance with all state requirements.
